Lab 201 Brand Identity

When we founded Lab 201, we spent a lot of time thinking about what we stand for, and what kind of things we wanted to represent as a technical agency. What we kept coming back to was the belief that building great software and digital experiences starts and ends with the people that use them. We want to create experiences that empower users instead of frustrating them, unlocking new ways to interface with our digital tools in the modern age.

For us, this means treating our entire process, from writing code to conducting UX research to designing interfaces, more like artisans and less like robots. Our decades of collective experience in startups, Fortune 500 companies, and agencies has led us to the conclusion that when the technical and creative parts are siloed and isolated from each other, the final results are experiences that fail to connect with people. But, when you treat them as part of a single holistic process, suddenly, the results are simply magic.

So that's our creed. We've got engineers that think like creatives, and designers that think like scientists, and they move together in everything we do, enabling us to build experiences that connect with real people and leave lasting impressions.

We're so committed to this that we put it on our name as well. In the protocol that allows computers to talk to each other on the web, HTTP code 201 is a computer's way of saying that some new piece of data has been successfully created. "Operation success, resource created." So that's us, Lab 201, stuck halfway between the highly technical and intensely creative, committed to building next-level software and digital experiences that resonate with people in the real world. One "Operation success, resource created," at a time.
